Head of Training & Development Retail
About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing retail organisation that is investing heavily in its Learning & Development function. This is a new role created to fuel further growth.
Reporting to the company CEO, the Head of Training Retail is accountable for the strategic vision and tactical execution of the training blueprint to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of store operations, customer service excellence and team development across our client’s branch network. The Head of Training & Development Retail is responsible for developing and delivering the strategy for creating a learning culture across retailoperations and aligning the training function to best support the business. The Head of Training & Development Retail is also responsible for establishing and leveraging partnerships with supplier site training teams and for measuring the effectiveness of training solutions.
10%: Work with various functions (Retail Operations, Buying, Marketing etc. ) to balance training expectations whilst measuring requirements
10%: Working in a matrix-ed environment, the successful candidate will ensure that the performance and training approach increases operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
10%: Ensure alignment of training plans with overall Operations Strategy and operational efficiency
10%: Develop a training action plan for the implementation/deployment of the job skills training strategy and ensure its execution in multiple stores.
10%: Develop relevant metrics to assure the training system operates in a state of compliance and productivity and report on status of training programs and deployment of strategy and action plans
10%: Strategically partner with retailers to understand and translate business needs and requirements into training deliver defined results
5%: Leverages network training technologies, processes and tools to simplify training processes
10%: Develop best practice management training program
5%: Perform regular benchmark of industry practices and keep senior operations leadership informed of trends
5%: Pro-actively monitors changes in the business and designs timely alternative strategies
5%: Advocates and represents organisation’s learning needs and business requirements to ensure realistic and effective learning solutions
5%: Manages, prioritises and communicates the organization’s training programs and performance.
Education & Experience Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in training strategy and/or operations within a customer facing businesses. Previous experience and/or knowledge in needs analysis, instructional design and development adult learning principles and marketing of training programs a plus.
