Country Manager – International retail chain
Excel Recruitment is now seeking interested applicants for an exciting, senior opportunity with one of our large retail clients. We are seeking to hire a Country Manager to run the entire operation here in Ireland.
The successful candidate will be given full responsibility for leading growth, driving sales and motivating and inspiring store teams to reach their full potential. You will have overall responsibility across a wide range of functions from finance to marketing and of course, retail operations and responsibility for a number of sites nationwide. You will develop and implement a business strategy and work to ensure this strategy is applied all operational elements of the business.
The successful will be energetic and passionate about retail, product and people. An ability to think strategically, commercially and operationally is essential and a proven track record in achieving success, meeting and exceeding targets and motivating teams to do the same.
The day-to-day
The Country Manager will be responsible for-
The Day to day running of a large retail chain  including     
  • Management of country operation with a focus on P&L, brand development and expansion
  • Interaction with the local community, suppliers, government and regulators
  • Coordination of local expansion strategy incl. selection of sites and negotiations with landlords.
  • Local implementation of brand and store concepts and assessment of local trends and market characteristics
  • Coordination and management of local sales activities with a focus on the implementation of sales strategy, ongoing monitoring of sales performance and development of measure to improve performance.
  • Ongoing review of country P&L performance
  • Operative and disciplinary management of all local commercial functions
Must haves
  • University degree
  • At least 7-10 years of professional experience in retail
  • At least 3-5 years experience in leadership positions in a corporate company structure
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to inspire and motivate employees
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
