Responsibilities of the Monday to Friday Chef:

  • Stock control of food items in your section corresponding to requirements
  • Keep the kitchen area neat, clean, and tidy
  • Conform with food safety and temperature standards
  • Conduct the Kitchen’s Standard Operating Procedures accurately
  • Minimise waste produced
  • Adhere to HACCP procedures and practices

By law, everyone in Ireland working in the hospitality or catering industry must have valid Manual Handling and HACCP (Food Safety) certificates.

Kitchen Porter Duties

  • Maintaining a clean environment ensuring surfaces and floors are clean and sanitised
  • Emptying bins
  • Basic food prep including helping the chef when needed

  • Assisting with deliveries
  • Running and managing the dishwash area
  • Preparing the kitchen at the end of the shift for the following day

  • Unloading and packing deliveries of equipment and food
  • Emptying bins
  • Being prepared to carry out any additional duties as they are needed

Catering Assistants and Kitchen Porters Requirements

  • Previous experience as Kitchen Porter or Catering Assistant- 6 months minimum
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Clear communication skills – good level of spoken English
  • Work well under pressure
  • Ability to deliver high standards consistently
  • Strong work ethic and can-do attitude
  • Be able to adapt to a variety of environments
  • Proactive attitude
