HR Manager

At Excel Recruitment we are currently recruiting a HR Manager on behalf of our Client, a semi-state body, based in Co.Kildare.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR professional with a clear and proven HR career. They will be comfortable leading the agenda on all areas of HR Policy & Systems, Employee Relations, Resource Planning and Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering, and Employee Engagement

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior HR Operations Manager to support business leaders in implementing key projects, particularly in change management.
  • Align team structures and roles with strategic objectives to ensure organisational success.
  • Establish key milestones, KPIs, and timelines for projects, ensuring clarity among people managers.
  • Support, coach, and develop line managers in building effective teams and managing employee performance.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, organisation design, change management, recruitment, and selection.
  • Oversee all employee relations matters, including union negotiations, in line with organisational strategy.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and internal communication agendas.
  • Develop well-being, inclusivity, and collegiality initiatives.
  • Implement actions to promote a customer-centric approach to service delivery.
  • Develop succession plans to align resources and structures with organisational objectives.
  • Enhance the performance management process through regular, constructive conversations.
  • Review and challenge HR processes and procedures for best practice.
  • Collaborate on annual benchmarking reviews and reporting metrics with senior management.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level and CIPD qualified, with 5-8 years of HR operations experience.
  • Prior team management experience is essential; coaching accreditation is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Results-driven with a bias for action and strong business acumen.
  • Experience in change management and learning and development initiatives.
  • Previous experience working with employee representatives or trade unions.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, mediation, facilitation, and technology skills.
  • Full working rights in Ireland.

Reporting to the HR Director, as Senior People Partner, you will have a heavy involvement with the development and growth of the business.

Responsibilities of this job:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to all employees on HR-related matters including performance management, employee relations, and employee well-being and engagement
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategic and operational HR policies and initiatives in line with company’s strategic plan and culture
  • Ensure performance management systems are in place and conducted in line with company policy
  • Manage on-boarding and induction processes for new employees as well as off boarding of leavers
  • Update and maintain employee documentation/personnel files such as employment contracts & handbooks
  • Collaborate with finance and payroll department to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the payroll cycle
  • Facilitate the implementation of any changes with regard to employment legislation
  • Support L&D on training and development requirements
  • Liaise with 3rd party legal advisors where required
  • Develop strong relationships with HR Business Partners and the wider network of teams
  • Continuously foster a positive organisational culture

Skills and experience required for this job:

  • 5+ years of Senior HR experience
  • CIPD/HR qualification essential
  • ER /EE experience essential
  • A self-starter with resilience and a passion to succeed
  • Strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize conflicting deadlines
  • A flexible and adaptable style to working
  • Excellent influencer at all organisational levels, including the ability to develop credibility quickly with senior managers/decision makers
