Excel Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist for one of our long-established clients specialising in both Care of the Elderly and mental health services based in North Dublin.

This full-time permanent, Monday to Friday contract is an excellent opportunity for anyone with previous experience. As a Senior Occupational you will be required to work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and junior occupational therapists.

Responsibilities of a Senior Occupational Therapist:

  • Demonstrate good clinical knowledge and reasoning based on previous experience in the care of the elderly and dementia setting.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on a daily basis to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Report any potential risks to the services coordinator, clinical nursing manager and director of nursing.
  • Encourage and oversee the evaluation of service results and other data collection practices.
  • Create and carry out quality initiatives audits and strategic service plans based on current evidenced based practice.
  • Effectively communicate with all staff members, patients, and their families.

Requirements for this Senior OT job:

  • BSc. in Occupational Therapy.
  • CORU Registration.
  • AOTI membership.
  • Minimum of 4 years post registration experience.
  • Exemplary experience in seating and posture assessment.
  • A compassionate approach to care for the elderly.

The focus for patients is on reablement and Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients re-learn and learn everyday skills, allowing them to become independent and return to the community. Our client offers a supportive and welcoming work environment, with strong clinical oversight for the Occupational Therapy department.

Responsibilities of this Occupational Therapist job

  • Assess, plan and implement personalized patient treatment programmes
  • Document assessments, interventions and patients progress appropriately
  • Work closely with patients, their families and other MDT members to facilitate treatment planning
  • Manage patient caseload efficiently
  • Adhere to local policies and procedures as well as legislations set out by CORU

Requirements
