Psychiatric Nurse – Day Services

Excel Healthcare are hiring a Psychiatric Nurse on behalf of our client in Dublin 9. This role would be based in their daytime service on a Monday to Friday schedule.

This client has recently expanded their service, with a second day hospital opening recently. Outpatients attend daily for a set care programme tailored to their needs. The nursing team is supported by a psychiatrist, psychologist, occupational therapist and a social worker to deliver care through group work or on an individual basis. This is an ideal opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse looking for a better work-life balance, with daytime hours on a Monday to Friday roster.

Responsibilities of this Psychiatric Nurse:

• Implement care programmes as discussed with the multi-disciplinary team
• Deliver therapeutic care in line with current legislation
• Advocate on behalf of service users
• Maintain accurate records of service user’s progress
• Committed to personal professional development and facilitate the learning needs of students

Requirements of a successful candidate:

• Newly graduated or experienced psychiatric nurses can apply
• Work well as part of a team
• Registered with the NMBI with a relevant nursing qualification

Psychiatric Nurse

Excel Healthcare is hiring a registered Psychiatric Nurse for our client in South Dublin. In a bright and modern setting, this purpose-built facility provides specialist care to adults with both psychiatric and neuropsychiatric disorders. Many patients referred are those with the most complex and challenging needs. Through the collaboration of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, our client adopts a person-centered care approach to allow individuals to improve their quality of life.

We are looking for a Psychiatric Nurse who can build a rapport with the people they care for and have a calming nature in tense situations. Our client is invested in their employee’s well-being, training, and career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of patients
• Safe medication management
• Provide emotional support for service users
• Co-ordinate care and interventions with other members of the multidisciplinary team
• Advocating for patients
• Delegation to other colleagues as appropriate

Requirements for a successful candidate:

• Active NMBI registration
• Knowledge of MAPA techniques is beneficial
• Work well as part of a team
• Newly graduated Psych Nurses and General Nurses with an interest in mental health services are welcome to apply
