Product Technologist – Home & Lifestyle
Our client, a hugely popular fashion retailer, is seeking a confident Product Technologist for their Home & Lifestyle team. As Product Technologist for our client’s Home & Lifestyle team, you must already have strong technical expertise to deliver quality products that are safe, legal and fit for purpose. You will come with experience in home and lifestyle products and be up-to-date on relevant testing. Dublin city centre based.

Your day-to-day of these Product Technologist jobs include:
- Driving the delivery of the departmental and quality strategy in line with customer’s expectations
- Applying quality standards and commercially evaluating product testing
- Monitoring returns reports
- Undertaking benchmarking exercises with competitors
- Adhering to and ensuring best practices are followed
- Liaise with retail teams to understand and interpret customer feedback on quality issues
- In partnership with the buying teams, participate in supplier meetings to drive the quality agenda
- Engaging with Sourcing and Ethical to understand supplier performance.
- Identifying opportunities where process efficiencies can be developed and drive cost savings
- Through training and engagement with Buying and Suppliers, improve the sampling hit rate
Requirements for these Product Technologist jobs include:
- 3+ years’ experience in similar position
- Proactive problem solver and commercially minded
- Full understanding of mass production
- Experience of working hand-in-hand to varied supplier base
- Experience of implementing process and following through to review
- Experience of managing and delivering on projects
- Great people skills and ability to communicate the Quality message across the board
- Good IT skills

Your day-to-day of this Assistant Product Technologist job include:
- Demonstrate technical knowledge to support the delivery of quality products that are safe, legal and fit for purpose.
- Assist with product development and adhere to “the Best Practice” sample process flow
- Investigate all Gold Seal rejections and communicate quality issues to product operations teams and suppliers
- Build competitor awareness to enable quality, fit and performance benchmarking versus key competitors
- Work with the compliance team to ensure the company quality standards are in line with industry standards (Value/Volume retail).
- Demonstrate an understanding of the legal/product/retail requirements for labelling
- Assist in identifying potential fit, fabric or component quality issues
- Compile and conclude tech packs and score card analysis as part of the delivery of the key line programme to ensure Primark quality standards and cost efficiencies are achieved
- Investigate and support resolution of quality issues in a timely manner with clear solutions and communication to all relevant stakeholders
