As Head of Buying and Merchandising you will play a pivotal part in shaping the strategic direction of the business. You will plan and develop the ranges, analyse performance and drive growth. You will lead, motivate and drive an already stellar team. You will take a lead role in the development and coaching of your team, ensuring they have the skills, training and resources to ensure success. You will have a passion for people and product with a keen eye for trends and opportunities and work at all times with both the overall business strategy and above all, your customer at the core of everything you do.
As Buying and Merchandising Director, you will-
Plan and develop product ranges
Overall responsibility for meeting sales and budgetary targets for the entire department
Lead, develop and motivate a team of buyers
Liaise with key stakeholders and suppliers ensuring best prices for the business
The ideal Head of Buying and Merchandising will have extensive Buying experience within the fashion categories of a progressive retailer. You will have a keen eye for trends and a strong, innate instinct for the needs and wants of your customer. You will be a skilled and confident communicator and negotiator capable of leading and motivating your team and managing relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers. You will have an empowering, hands-on management and negotiating style.
Key Requirements of the Head of Buying and Merchandising:
Min. 10 years as a Senior Fashion Buyer
Proven successful track record of leading and developing a buying team.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
