We now have an exciting opportunity for a Head Chef to join a well-established & well-known bar/restaurant & help them expand even more in Sligo. Due to COVID, our client has had to adapt as have many companies and have maintained growth and are now looking to expand the restaurant side of the business. This includes 3 food operations, where the full brand standard franchise will be provided training for 2 parts & there will then be unlimited scope for creativity in the third operation.

Our client is seeking a driven & enthusiastic Head Chef who can help them drive their business forward. The ideal individual will join a fantastic team, managing & ensuring the highest standard of food production is always met. A minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

Key Responsibilities as Head Chef:
* Controlling and directing the food preparation process
* Overall responsibility for the kitchen’s daily operations
* Liaising with the relevant suppliers for food orders
* Managing and training with other Chefs of all levels
* Ensuring best practice and franchise recipe standards are adhered to at all times
* Interviewing and hiring new kitchen staff
* Maintaining/raising the food’s profit margins
* Monitoring and controlling stock levels
* Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed
* Implementation of health and safety procedures in the kitchen
* Estimating costs and ensuring all purchases come within the budget
* Taking care of the kitchen’s accounts and creating a work roster
* Ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guideline

Skills & Qualities:
* Previous experience managing and motivating a kitchen team
* Outstanding cooking skills
* A deep understanding of ingredients and produce
* The capacity to work under pressure
* Excellent leadership and management
* The ability to delegate tasks
* Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
