This Healthcare Assistant job requires the following:

  • FETAC/QQI Level 5 as Healthcare Assistant or in pre-nursing or 3 years professional experience
  • Experience working in a Nursing Home or Hospital environment
  • That you are compassionate, caring, patient and gentle
  • Right to Work in Ireland
  • Patient Manual Handling
  • Infection Prevention & Control
  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults (including Elder Abuse)
  • 2 written references
  • Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination.
  • Garda vetting must be completed through Excel Recruitment
  • Knowledge of HIQA standards and best practices.

The responsibilities of the Healthcare Assistant Job are:

  • Assisting patients with daily personal care, including assisting with bathing and personal hygiene.
  • Maintaining personal dignity and privacy
  • Providing companionship and reinforcing the patient’s feelings of comfort and safety.
  • Advocating for the patient.
  • Liaising with the care team and carrying out any assigned tasks.
