HR Learning & Development Specialist

Here at Excel Recruitment, we are looking for a Head of Learning and Development for our client which is a highly recognised lobbying group within the FMCG markets.

Our client is seeking a Head of Learning and Development who will work in close alignment with the head of this organisation to be an active and senior member of an NFP business with thousands of members across the country. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the L&D sector, a creative mindset, and a passion for both retail and food service.

This role is an autonomous, challenging position where you will design, create and implement new training programmes for my client’s members nationwide.

Networking with members, partners, and stakeholders will be a part of this role, as well as building relationships with clients and members, following a budget, maximising potential return, and supporting the delivery of events.

The right candidate should have extensive knowledge of these sectors and be able to influence key decisions at the highest level of their organization.

Our client is negotiable for the right candidate and is offering 25 days annual leave plus the flexibility to WFH.

Responsibilities and Requirements of this HR Learning & Development Specialist:

  • Several years’ experience in a similar Learning and Development role
  • A background in a retail or hospitality environment is essential including an understanding of retailer’s developmental needs
  • Building relationships with clients and members, working to a budget and maximising potential return and supporting the delivery of events and co-ordinating guest speakers
  • Develop and grow a learning management system which they will offer to their members
  • An understanding of popular L&D systems and platforms
  • The ability to network and to be confident as a company ambassador and representative
  • The ability to be a leader and coach employees across all levels of the business
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills and a genuine passion for people development
