Operations Manager, Cash & Carry

My client, a long-standing Cash & Carry are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in Cork.

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximise the process efficiency and productivity.

In addition, they play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with customers and a team of 60 staff.

Responsibilities of the Operations Manager

  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy in line with planned growth projections.
  • Define, develop & execute local strategies for operations across the business, in line with & contributing to the company vision & strategy, within the borders of business plan & budget
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the reporting functions according to the agreed operating principles of the business & relationships with customers
  • Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, and Finance
  • Determine key supply chain KPIs
  • Identify and implement solutions for process improvements
  • Work with the Directors on a regular basis identifying efficiencies.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with employees
  • Recruitment and training of supply chain staff and managing performance levels of team members to ensure agreed company standards are met
  • Coordination of delivery vehicles maintenance and management of vehicle procurement
  • You will be responsible for overall facility safety, operating expense budget, transport budget, execution of quality systems, performance management and other requirements as needed to maintain productivity and achieve exceptional levels of Customer Satisfaction

Skills & Experience for the job of Operations Manager

  • Minimum 5 years in operations management roles. Exposure to logistics a definite advantage.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Experience in cost and productivity optimisation through process optimisation, as well as design and implementation of new operation procedures
  • Track record managing KPI operational excellence
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

Package

  • Salary €60-70K depending on experience
