Health and Safety Officer
Health and Safety Officer required to join a busy construction company on residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out Site Safety audits (Scoring version) at least once a week on all sites responsible for
- Advise site management on Health & Safety (Rules & Regulations)
- Co-ordinate training for site safety for site staff
- Carry out safety training on site.
- Report to Contracts Manager daily.
- Report to Environmental Health & Safety Manager as required.
- Carry out risk assessments as required.
- Review and assist in producing method statements as required.
- Hold regular site safety meetings with all sub-contractors on sites responsible for on a weekly basis.
- The use of subcontractors on site to ensure that their work activities are co-ordinated to ensure the safety of all persons on site.
- Monitor all health and safety activities on the project and report the findings to the Contracts Manager.
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience in a construction environment
- Ideally you will have gained experience working on a wide range of projects.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills.

Key responsibilities:

- Relevant trade qualification and/or third level qualification essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role essential
- Strong Boiler fault finding is essential.

- OFTEC Certification an advantage but not necessary
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines.
- Good knowledge of HVAC plant and controls
