This Assistant Manager role is ideal for a Duty Manager, Supervisor and Retail Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Be actively involved of day to day running of a store
  • Manage a large team and assist Store Manager
  • To achieve sales targets as agreed with management
  • To achieve a strong gross profit margin
  • To ensure your management team are effective, organised and achieving success
  • Motivating your management team, ensuring they are properly trained to deliver the highest of standards throughout the store, in regard to hygiene, cleanliness, visual display and customer service
  • Merchandising skills to upsell
  • Mentor, and lead by example

Requirements:

  • You must have experience in fresh food/grocery retail management, a strong understanding of margins, understanding of cost prices and waste management experience as well
  • You will be an ambitious leader, commercial with excellent people management and communication skills
  • Flexible, strong work ethic, passionate about food and be highly focused on customer service in everything that you do

Responsibilities for the job of Store Manager:

  • Responsible for the overall commercial success of the store including KPI’s and turnover.

  • Set performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure a welcoming and customer-centric atmosphere in the store.
  • Responsible for visual merchandising and stock control including ordering, replenishment, storage, stock takes and seasonality changes.

Skills for the job of Store Manager:

  • Excellent communication skills and a natural seller.
  • A love for home/kitchen/interiors is essential.
  • Proven retail experience managing a team of 6+ (1 year minimum)
  • Passion for everything retail including operations, merchandising, people management and stick management.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week 5 over 7 days.
